The Miami Skylift is Prepping to Launch from DTown
September 7, 2007
The Balloon will function as an observatory deck taking riders several hundred feet up in the sky. Nice view I would imagine. It’s hard to have thought the Bayfront Park fountain would serve as a launching pad for such a ride. I think it’s fresh. Here are some reader submitted images (thanks to Alex G. and John Paul for submitting!):

I think that the balloon is a great idea but I thought the fountain was beautiful and I think that the balloon makes it look too much like a carnival, and a little less respectable than I think it should be. I think it also takes away from a certain peacefulness that the park had.

This highlights the fact that we lack a traditional observatory deck in the Core. If we had one, something like this would not likely happen. But, all in all, I think it’s a good idea too.

This sounds great, is it open to the public, and available to take children?
