New 335-unit Two Tower Project in Little Havana

Two twenty four (24) story towers are planned for Little Havana. Publix is secured as a tenant for part of the commercial portion of the 335 unit condominium, which will actually be structured by the developer as a homeowners association. This excellently written article sheds light on the legal intricacies that developers have to deal with in order to acquire land strategically. It also places an emphasis on the farsightedness of the developer’s legal team in planning for HOA problems vis-à-vis commercial elements on the property. Siefried, Rivera, Lerner, De La Torre & Sobel, is mentioned as having played the role of legal counsel. This law firm is paramount in the existing and emerging condo market. Even more important is the spotlighting of Argentine developer Miguel Angel Barbagallo who is building around Little Havana and the Miami River—neighborhoods that don’t draw as much attention as Downtown but will serve as an integral part of Miami’s future urban neighborhood portfolio. The contributions of far sighted developers like Mr. Barbagallo are necessary in fostering this historic urban evolution.
